A Bigger Splash of Luca Guadagnino. Plot and Review

A film Unusual, intangible, complex; complex as the characters' state of mind, of women. It is a film of blood, of passion, of rites, of glances, of drugs, of secrets and loves sex. Yet there is all this and do not see, you feel as soon as.

In the highlights the director does not sink, the camera gets inside the characters, but does not dig. It remains completely on the surface, or almost. Pantelleria is perfect, is the fifth star of the film, if not the principale.Ed is right under the starry sky of the island that is accomplished the murder. Out of nowhere, without any warning, without any clue.

A concealed anger, imperceptibly, throughout the film, which suddenly explodes. As the island's strengths: a dormant volcano but that could wake up and kill. The film suddenly changes, it becomes a paradoxical traits, reminiscent of the circus. Caged animals and a grotesque clown in uniform interrupt the psychological drama of the protagonists invading the mental and physical spaces.

The music changes tone and accompanies the change of scene. Then again the drama: the confession, even surface that it does not breaks that do not dig. Violence, tears, departure and perhaps the nell'anormalità normalcy of life. In a "no sense" which victimizes. Who cares if men drown in a pool or in the Mediterranean. The fault, however in that borderland is "they", of the other. In the end everything will float, not sink, there is none "Splash".
